I don't know know when it's s...Interesting. I don't know know when it's started or ended. So much revising happens in the head, before we start and as the pen is moving. Ending for me comes from boredom or exhaustion or simply not knowing what else to do with the darn thing. It helps to have feedback. Regular feedback makes for an extended revising process. So questions and suggestions from a reader keep me going. A few positive comments or an interesting reaction might lead me to stop. I like cutting until the poem is as small as possible, yet still oozing with possibility and meaning.
